This page was established to promote Bluegrass music in Europe because "....we think that Bluegrass is going to be bigger in the next millenium than it ever was in the '40s and '50s, and we just want to be part of it." (mod. Ricky Skaggs in the "Wall Street Journal" in December 1997)

Bluegrass Europe offers you useful information about bluegrass-related events and subjects, as well as links to other Bluegrass sources on the Internet. It focuses on European events and links and uses selected intercontinental key pages for an easy overview and your further mobility in the Bluegrass net. This is a free, independent online service.

The automated online services including an events database, musicians meeting point, market place, forum and mailing list run at www.bluegrass.de are not duplicated here to fully use the advantages of the web, strengthen the Bluegrass community and join forces in networking. Everyone is welcome to contribute and use the databases. If you want to go there directly use the "meeting place" link or select from the scrolling menue on the front page.

Any input from you, the users, is welcome whether they are members of any association or individualists. If you have any Bluegrass News to be propagated here, please contact us here or post it in the appropriate section. I feel that a chaotic information system like the internet fits us perfectly well.

Bluegrass Europe was adopted as official printed journal by the European Bluegrass Music Association (EBMA) founded in 2002. Resulting from server space, my limited time, and the scope of the page the information is limited to the title page and story and table of contents. If you want to learn more, please subscribe to the real printed journal.

Historically, this website was originally established in 1996 by the bluegrass festival promoter Karl Heinz Siber. Since 1998 www.bluegrass-europe.com is sole property of Rudi Vogel who runs it with the joint automated services and forums in the bluena_t11.jpg - 6816 Bytes Bluegrass World at www.bluegrass.de as a free, independent public online-information service.
